Which file formats can FRITZ!Fon play?

With your FRITZ!Fon you can directly play music files made available by a media server in your home network (for example the FRITZ!Box Media Server). FRITZ!Fon supports direct playback of the file formats MP3 and WAV. As of FRITZ!OS 6.50, FRITZ!Fon also displays image in the file format PNG or GIF. FRITZ!Fon does not play videos from the Media Server.

FRITZ!Fon can also serve as a UPnP control point and transmit files from the media server to other playback devices. This way you can play music files on your stereo system that were made available by the FRITZ!Box Media Server in the home network, for example. FRITZ!Fon is capable of transmitting all file formats supported by the media server. In order to play a file transmitted from the Media Server, a playback device or software must support the UPnP AV standard as well as the format of the file.
