Loading the FRITZ!Powerline factory settings

When you load the factory settings, all of the individual settings you made in the FRITZ!Powerline adapter are deleted. It makes sense to load the factory settings if you are going to use the FRITZ!Powerline adapter at a different location or are planning to pass it on to another user, for example. In addition, this deletes incorrect settings that prevent correct operation.

You can either push a button or use the user interface of the FRITZ!Powerline adapter to load the factory settings.

1 Pushing a button to load the factory settings

  1. Plug the FRITZ!Powerline adapter into an electrical outlet.
  2. Push the corresponding button:
    • If you have a FRITZ!Powerline adapter with buttons on the front of the device:
      • FRITZ!Powerline 1260E:
        • Push the "Connect" button for 15 seconds.
      • FRITZ!Powerline 546E and 540E:
        • Push the "WLAN/WPS" and "Powerline · Security" buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
      • FRITZ!Powerline 1000E/1220E:
        • Push the "Powerline · Security" button for 10-15 seconds.
      • FRITZ!Powerline 1240E:
        • Push the "WLAN-WPS/Powerline · Security" button for 15 seconds.
    • If you have a FRITZ!Powerline adapter with two buttons on the base of the device:
      • Push the "Reset" button with a pointy object such as a paperclip for 2 seconds.
